Twin Caves Site

This site, uses the word GRIAN and has six strokes for six months in Ogham). At the Twin Caves site, light instead of shadow is used, like at the Crack Cave in S.E. Colorado. Ancient Ogham letter groupings spell GRIAN for “Sun”, used in Crack Cave and other sites in the S.E Colorado region, the Oklahoma panhandle, and have been found in Kansas.

Within cave 1, the light display begins as a serpent with open jaws and turns into a fish, then finally, a triangle of light focused on a petroglyph of a downward arrow. The petroglyphs predict what will happen in the cave at equinox sunset.

Figure 6 The Fish-like illumination inside the cave interacts with petroglyphs at equinox sunset. The fish makes up part of the middle section of the alignment, following the serpent of light and preceding the triangle of light.

Figure 7 Cliff opposite the caves has a panel of proposed constellations with the Libyan/Tifinagh letters W-N-T meaning” WINTER. “This would have been a safe place to spend the winter!
